Applying the Changes to the Server

When you change any settings using the ClearSCADA Server Configuration Tool, the affected components are highlighted in red in the tree-structure:

The red highlighting indicates that, for the changes to become effective, you still need to apply those changes to the server. To do this:

  1. Right-click on the system icon in the tree-structure.
    A context-sensitive menu is displayed.
  2. Select the Apply Changes option.
  3. Depending on the impact of the changes on the system, you might also need to:
    • Restart any ViewX or WebX clients that are accessing the database that is located on the server.
    • Restart the server
    • Restart other components or applications.

If a client or server restart is required, a diagnostic message should appear advising you accordingly. The ClearSCADA documentation also indicates whether a restart is required for the changes to become effective.
