Choose the Database Table for an Extra Field
Each custom field is added to a table in the database. The table to which you add an extra field affects where the custom field is shown. For example, if you add a field to the CDBPoint table, the custom field will be shown on Point Forms.
To define the database table for an extra field, you need to use the Edit Field window (see Add a New Extra Field or see Modify an Existing Extra Field).
When you have displayed the Edit Field window, you can define which database table will contain the field by using the Table setting:
- Table—Use the Table combo box to choose the database table that will contain the custom field.
- Choose from:
- CAccumulatorBase—To add the field to the CAccumulatorBase table. The field will be shown on the first Reset tab of Accumulator Forms.
- CAdvChannel—To add the field to the CAdvChannel table. The field will be shown on a new tab on the Channel Forms.
- CAdvOutstation—To add the field to the CAdvOutstation table. The field will be shown on the Outstation tab on Outstation Forms.
- CAdvSet—To add the field to the CAdvSet table. The field will be shown on a new Outstation Set tab on Outstation Set Forms.
- CAlarmObject—To add the field to the CAlarmObject table. The field will be shown on the Alarms tab.
- CCalendar—To add the field to the CCalendar table. The field will be shown on a new tab.
- CCustomColour—To add the field to the CCustomColour table. The field will be shown on the Color tab of the Custom Color Form.
- CDBAlarmAction—To add the field to the CDBAlarmAction table. The field will be shown on the Action tab of the Form for Alarm Redirection Action items.
- CDBDevice—To add the field to the CDBDevice table. The field will be shown on a new tab on the Forms for devices (scanners, outstations, PLCs, etc.).
- CDBMethodCall—To add the field to the CDBMethodCall table. The field will be shown on the Method Call tab on the Method Call Form.
- CDBObject—To add the field to the CDBObject table. The field will be shown on the Identification tab.
- CDBPoint—To add the field to the CDBPoint table. The field will be shown on the Point tab on Point Forms.
- CDBPointSource—To add the field to the CDBPointSource table. The field will be shown on a new tab on Forms for scanners and simple point sources.
- CDBSystemCmd—To add the field to the CDBSystemCmd table. The field will be shown on the System Command tab on the System Command Form.
- CDBUser—To add the field to the CDBUser table. The field will be shown on the General tab on the User Form.
- CDBUserBase—To add the field to the CDBUserBase table. The field will be shown on a new tab on the User Form.
- CFileObject—To add the field to the CFileObject table. The field will be shown on a new tab on the Forms for Mimics, Trends and X-Y Plots.
- CForecast—To add the field to the CForecast table. The field will be shown on the Forecast tab on Forecast Forms.
- CGroup—To add the field to the CGroup table. The field will be shown on the Group tab on Forms for Groups, Group Instances, Group Templates and Operator Document Stores.
- CHistoricCalc—To add the field to the CHistoricCalc table. The field will be shown on the Historic Calculation tab on the Historic Calculation Form.
- CParam—To add the field to the CParam table. The field will be shown on the Parameter tab on the Forms for Parameter items.
- CProfile—To add the field to the CProfile table. The field will be shown on the Profile tab on the Time Profile Form.
- CResettingAccumulator—To add the field to the CResettingAccumulator table. The field will be shown on the second Reset tab on the Forms for accumulator items.
- CSchedule—To add the field to the CSchedule table. The field will be shown on the Schedule tab on the Schedule Form.
- CScriptLibrary—To add the field to the CScriptLibrary table. The field will be shown on a new tab on the Script Library Form.
- CValueMap—To add the field to the CValueMap table. The field will be shown on the Value Map tab on the Forms for Value Map items.
- CVariable—To add the field to the CVariable table. The field will be shown on the Variable tab on the Forms for Variable items.
When you have defined the Table, you can continue to define the other field settings as required.
