Communications State - Failed: Assign to Remote COM Port Failed
A channel can fail due to errors occurring on the connection between the driver and the port server when the port is being assigned.
We recommend that you:
- Check the network connection by 'pinging' the remote computer from the main server. To do this, access the Microsoft Windows Command Prompt and enter:

Ping <IP Address or name of remote computer>
- Do not enter the angle brackets.
- If the network connection is working correctly, the remote computer server will return data that you will see in the Command Prompt window. As this confirms that there is not a fault with your network we recommend that you contact Schneider Electric for assistance.
- If there is no reply, there is a network fault.
