Define the Name of the View Status Information for an Extra Field
Each custom field that you add has its value shown on the Status display for the relevant items (the items related to the Table setting for the new field). The Status display (also referred to as a View window or View dialog) shows a snapshot of the status of an item which includes some of its values. Next to each entry on the Status display is a name that describes the source of the entry.
By using the Edit Field window, you can define the name that is shown in the Status display for a new custom field.
To access the Edit Field window, see Add a New Extra Field. You can also use the Edit Field window to modify the Target Type of an existing custom field (see Modify an Existing Extra Field).
When you have displayed the Edit Field window, use the View Info Dialog Title setting to define the Status display name for the field’s value:
- View Info Dialog Title—Enter the name for the field value. The name that you enter will be shown adjacent to the field’s value in the relevant Status displays. For example, if you enter SiteLocation as the View Info Dialog Title entry for an extra field that uses the CDBPoint table, the Status display for points will contain an entry named SiteLocation. The value defined for the SiteLocation field of the selected point will be shown next to the SiteLocation entry in the Status display.
When you have defined the View Info Dialog Title setting, you can continue to define the other field settings as required.
