Define the Position of an Extra Field
Each custom field has to be allocated a position on a tab for the relevant Forms. Each tab is divided into a grid of 20 columns and 100 rows (you cannot see the columns or rows). The columns are numbered 1-20 from left to right and the rows are numbered 1-100 from top to bottom. The position of an extra field is determined by its Column setting and a Row setting. The Column setting determines the horizontal position of the field and the Row setting determines the vertical position of the field.
Each field needs a unique position, and so when you are defining the position of a new field, you should first check to see which positions on the tab are available. Then, when you define the position of your new field, define a position that is not already in use by other fields. If you are going to add a label to accompany your new field, you should also check that there is enough room for your label—the label will be displayed in the column to the left of the defined location.
To define the position of an extra field, you need to use the Edit Field window (see Add a New Extra Field or see Modify an Existing Extra Field).
When you have displayed the Edit Field window, you can define the position of the field by using the Column and Row settings:
- Column—Use the Column spin box to define the horizontal position of the custom field.
- Row—Use the Row spin box to define the vertical position of the custom) field.
When you have defined the Column and Row, you can continue to define the other field settings as required.
