Lone Server Architecture

The simplest form of ClearSCADA system is a Lone Server architecture. This involves a single server that runs independently, stores the database and communicates with the clients and hardware (outstations, PLCs etc.).

As Lone Server architectures have only one server, there is no redundancy. If there is an unexpected problem with the server or it loses its connections to the clients or hardware, the ClearSCADA system will go offline.

To set up a lone server architecture, you need to log on to the server and configure it to have the appropriate settings. For more information, see Configure a Lone Server.
