Tabs on Point Forms
Point Forms have several ‘tabs’ or ‘pages’ for configuring different aspects of point data. For many points on simple drivers, these tabs are available:
- Identification—Use to optionally define a Help View and to indicate whether a point is to be excluded from any Exclusive Control activity (see Defining Identification Details in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Configuration).
- User Methods—Use to define any custom pick actions (‘methods’) for a point (see Using the User Methods Tab to Define Custom Actions in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Configuration).
- Alarm—Use to define optional features associated with any point alarms (see Defining an Item or Group’s Alarm Properties in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Configuration).
- Redirection—Use to define any alarm redirections for a point (see Configure Alarm Redirections for an Item or Group in the ClearSCADA Guide to Alarm Redirection).
- <Point Type> (see the driver-specific documentation, and also see the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Point Configuration).
- Historic—Use to define any historic data storage properties for a point (see Defining Historic Details for a Point in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Point Configuration). This tab is only displayed for points that can support historic data.
- <Driver Type>—Use to define any point- or driver-specific properties. See the driver-specific documentation and also, as applicable:
In addition, on drivers that support controls (outputs), a Control tab is displayed. You define whether a point is an input or an output by using an Enabled check box on this tab. For information on configuring the properties on the Control tab, see the driver-specific documentation for any driver-specific fields, and also, as appropriate:
- see Define the Control Settings for an Analog Output Point in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Point Configuration.
- see Define the Control Settings for a Digital Output Point in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Point Configuration.
- see Define the Control Settings for a String Point in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Point Configuration.
- see Define the Control Settings for a Time Point in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Point Configuration.
