Introduction to the Trio Diagnostics Driver

This driver is a simple driver. It provides additional functionality to enable ClearSCADA to interface with specific supported devices using a particular protocol. To interact successfully with such devices, you need to:

ClearSCADA’s Trio Diagnostics driver provides additional functionality to enable ClearSCADA to communicate with a network of Trio Datacom radios. ClearSCADA communicates with each radio network via a single Trio Datacom ‘base’ radio (see Supported System Setups). The ‘base’ radio might be any of several radio products, such as a Trio Datacom base station, or a Trio Datacom remote data radio unit.

The driver enables ClearSCADA to interrogate each Trio Datacom radio on the radio network for diagnostics data. The type of diagnostics data that ClearSCADA can retrieve from each radio varies, depending on the radio series (see Trio Datacom Radio Series Supported by the Trio Diagnostics Driver) and the type of radio unit.

The ClearSCADA Trio Diagnostics driver documentation explains how to configure Trio Diagnostics specific features and items in the ClearSCADA database (see Configure ClearSCADA to Retrieve Trio Datacom Radio Diagnostics).

The guide also provides information about:

For any Trio Diagnostics information not included in this guide, see the documentation supplied with your Trio Datacom radio equipment.

NOTE: There are no driver-specific pick actions for database items on this particular driver. However, users with the required privileges can add custom pick actions to a database item by using the User Methods tab on the relevant configuration Form (see Using the User Methods Tab to Define Custom Actions in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Configuration). See a system administrator for the documentation associated with such custom actions (also known as ‘methods’).
