Areas of Interest Bar

NOTE: This Explorer Bar is only available on a ViewX client.

The Areas of Interest Bar is an Explorer Bar (see Explorer Bars). The Bar is typically used by higher-level users when restricting alarm and event access to specific areas of a ClearSCADA system.

Areas of Interest are used to limit the alarms and events that are displayed on a node (workstation).

Typically, the Areas of Interest you can view are configured to represent geographical or logical areas. When Areas of Interest are configured, you can only view alarms and events for items in your designated Areas of Interest. You will not be presented with events or alarms for items that are not included in your Areas of Interest.

The Areas of Interest command is only enabled on the View tab if the Areas of Interest feature is enabled for your user profile.

If the feature is not enabled on the ClearSCADA server, a message explaining this will display under the system node in the Areas of Interest Bar.

For information on how to display the Areas of Interest Bar, see Display an Explorer Bar in ViewX.

For more information on Areas of Interest, see Restrict Alarm and Event Access to Specific Areas of Interest in the ClearSCADA Guide to Core Configuration.
