Battery Voltage

Associated with: WITS Outstations.

The Battery Voltage attribute is a Health Check Status item. If the Field Device is battery powered it may be able to detect a low battery voltage. If this is the case, the attribute displays the battery voltage status as last reported by the Field Device. If the Field Device cannot detect a low battery voltage, then the Status display will not show this attribute.

The device profile defines whether or not the Field Device supports this capability, along with what constitutes a low voltage ((see Display a WITS Device Profile)).

The battery status can be either Low or Normal.

If the battery voltage status becomes Low, then ClearSCADA may raise an alarm. To configure this alarm, you use the Severity settings in the Health Check Logging section of the WITS tab in the Outstation Form. The default setting is for ClearSCADA to raise an alarm ((see Define the Severity for Health Check Logging)).

If the battery status is Low, it may be necessary to change the battery.
