Configuring WITS Server Settings

When a ClearSCADA system is first installed, a system administrator needs to configure some driver-specific settings on the server by using the ClearSCADA Server Configuration tool. (For information about how you access the ClearSCADA Server Configuration tool, see Configuring Advanced Driver Server Settings in the ClearSCADA Guide to Advanced Drivers).

This section explains the properties that are specific to the WITS section of the tool.

NOTE: Before making any WITS-specific settings, a system administrator should first check that all of the DNP3 Master settings have been made (see Configuring DNP3 Server Settings).

When the DNP3 WITS driver is first installed on a ClearSCADA system, a system administrator has to:

  1. Define the WITS Callback Time Period
  2. Define Which Function Codes are Critical.
  3. Apply the changes to the server (see Configuring Advanced Driver Server Settings in the ClearSCADA Guide to Advanced Drivers.)
  4. If the server is currently running as the main server, restart the DNP3 WITS driver for the changes to take effect (see Start and Stop a Driver in the ClearSCADA Guide to Server Administration).
  5. Repeat steps 1 to 4 for each server on your system.
