Host Address for WITS Network Connections

You can use the WITS Outstation Form to configure network connections between ClearSCADA and a WITS Field Device. For each connection, you need to specify the host address of the Field Device (outbound) or ClearSCADA server (inbound).

The settings at the top of the Form are for the outbound connection (ClearSCADA to Field Device), and include a Host Address. In this Host Address field, you need to specify the IP address or domain name of the Field Device. There are two Host Address fields for Dual Networks: one for each network.

Host Address - Outbound Network Connection

Further down the Form, there is a Host Address field for each Inbound Connection. For the inbound connections, you need to specify the IP address or domain name of a ClearSCADA server.

NOTE: If the ClearSCADA server or WITS Field Device are behind a router, you may need to specify the IP address or domain name of the router. The router will then need to be configured to forward the connection to the Field Device/ClearSCADA server.
