NOTE: The Initialize pick action is only available for Field Devices that support the initialization of application programs. The device profile indicates whether the Field Device supports initialization (see Display a WITS Device Profile)
A Field Device may have the concept of an ‘initial’ state for an application. For example, the 'initial' state may involve the Field Device setting some virtual points used by the application to known (initial) values. Once the application is in this 'initial' state it is ready to run.
If a Field Device does not have the concept of an 'initial' state, the Initialize action will not be available.
When the application is running, you can use the Initialize action to reset the application back to its 'initial' state if necessary.
NOTE: If you are using this action with the Automation Interface, you need to specify the method name Initialise.
