The Local Device attribute is a Health Check Status item. The attribute shows whether a device (such as a laptop) is connected to the Field Device. This might be to monitor or reconfigure the Field Device. If the Field Device does not have the capability to detect an attached device, the Status display will not show this attribute.
The possible states are as follows:
- Attached <description>
- Detached <description>.

When a device is attached to, or detached from, the Field Device, ClearSCADA may log an event. To configure this event logging, you use the Severity settings in the Health Check Logging section of the WITS tab in the Outstation Form ((see Define the Severity for Health Check Logging)).
