Port for WITS Network Connections

You can use the WITS Outstation Form to configure network connections between ClearSCADA and a WITS Field Device. For each connection, you need to specify the number of the TCP/IP port on which the Field Device (outbound) or ClearSCADA (inbound) is 'listening'.

The settings at the top of the Form are for the outbound connection (ClearSCADA to Field Device), and include a Port. In this Port field, you need to specify the number of the TCP/IP port on which the Field Device is 'listening' for connections from ClearSCADA. There are two Port fields for Dual Networks: one for each network.

Host Address - Outbound Network Connection

Further down the Form, there is a Port field for each Inbound Connection. For the inbound connections, you need to specify the number of the TCP/IP port on which ClearSCADA is listening for connections from the Field Device. (The Listen Port is defined in the Channel configuration, see Configure a Channel's Network Connection Properties in the ClearSCADA Guide to Drivers).

Host Address - Inbound Network Connections

NOTE: If the ClearSCADA server or WITS Field Device are behind a router, you may need to specify a Port number on the router. The router will then need to be configured to forward the connection to the Field Device/ClearSCADA server.
