WITS Driver-Specific <Update Type> Status Values
<Update Type> Status attributes such as Current Status and Previous Update Status are common to points on many drivers. They indicate the status of the particular point value to which the attribute relates (as opposed to providing general information about the status of the point itself). For example, a point’s Previous Update Status attribute only indicates the status of that point’s Previous Update Value.
For points on the WITS driver, <Update Type> Status attributes might display a combination of common values, DNP3 specific values and the following WITS driver-specific values:
- Alarms, Events and Logged Events Inhibited—The Field Device recorded the point value while the point was inhibited from reporting any changes (that is, state, DNP3 object flag or other changes).
- Alarms and Events Inhibited—The Field Device recorded the point value while the point was inhibited from reporting alarms and events. The Field Device treats point actions configured as alarms and events as logged events.
- Alarms Inhibited—The Field Device recorded the point value while the point was inhibited from reporting alarms. Point actions configured as alarms behave like events. Therefore, the Field Device will not initiate a connection to ClearSCADA when the point changes.
- Sampled—The Field Device recorded the point value while it was performing high speed data sampling (see High Speed Sampled Data for WITS Analog Input Points).
With each of the above Status values, the associated Quality attribute should provide more information about the reliability of the point’s data and/or the source of the point value.
For further information about <Update Type> Status attributes and other attributes that are common to many types of point, see Status Attributes Associated with Points in the ClearSCADA Guide to Drivers and see DNP3-Specific Status Display Attributes in the ClearSCADA Guide to the DNP3 Driver.
With WITS points for which ClearSCADA stores data historically, the above Status values also appear in Historic Lists see WITS-Specific Status Descriptions on Historic Lists).
