WITS-Specific Alarm and Event Categories
Each alarm and event in a ClearSCADA system has a Category that indicates the type of alarm or event. The Category is included by default in the Events List and, if applicable, in the Alarms List and in the Alarm Banner.
You can optionally filter the entries in either List by category—the entries from which you can choose comprise various ‘core’ categories, along with any categories that are specific to the drivers that are installed on your system.
In systems in which both the DNP3 and DNP3 WITS driver components are installed, in addition to the ‘core’ and DNP3 driver-specific alarm and event categories, there is a DNP3 WITS-specific category as follows:
- WITS Application Status—Entries associated with a change in the status of a WITS application program. Each Field Device routinely reports the status of its application programs to ClearSCADA, which then stores this status information in the database. When the status of an application program changes, ClearSCADA raises and logs the appropriate alarms and events. For example, the status might change when a Field Device initializes, starts, stops, pauses or resumes an application program. The status might also change when a Field Device detects a problem that affects an application program.
