Exporting Historical Data to Wonderware Historian Online

You can export historic data for ClearSCADA points and accumulators to either a Wonderware Historian On-Premise server or to Wonderware Historian Online. For more information, see Introduction to the Wonderware Historian Driver and see Configure a Wonderware Historian Database Item.

This section describes the procedure that you need to follow to connect ClearSCADA to Wonderware Historian Online and to export historical data to that application.

Before you start the procedure, you need to obtain a username and password by registering with Wonderware Historian Online. To do this, contact Wonderware Historian Online support.

To export historic data to Wonderware Historian Online, follow this procedure:

  1. Set the Historian field on the Wonderware Historian database item to Wonderware Historian Online Edition. For more information, see Specify the Connection Properties
  2. Before you can connect ClearSCADA to Wonderware Historian Online, you will need to generate a security token (see Generate a Security Token with Wonderware Historian Publisher). The security token will enable you to encrypt the communications between the two applications. If your ClearSCADA system has a Hot Standby configuration, you need to install a security certificate before you generate the security token. This is so that the token can be shared by more than one computer (see Use a Certificate for a Wonderware Historian Online Security Token).
  3. When you have generated the security token (and installed the certificate, if necessary), use the Set Token pick action to enter the token into ClearSCADA(see Set Token). For more information about using pick actions, see Object Menu in the ClearSCADA Guide to ViewX and WebX Clients.
